Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor Eric D. Fingerhut will visit Cleveland State University on Thursday, February 5 and Friday, February 6 as he continues a series of trips around the state to meet with students, faculty and university leadership to discuss higher education in Ohio.
The media are cordially invited to join in on the events of the Chancellor’s visit to Cleveland State, many of which promise to provide interesting and unique photo and video opportunities.
Highlights of Mr. Fingerhut’s visit to CSU will include*:
4:00 – 4:15 p.m.: Meeting with members of CSU’s five student publications in the Main Classroom building, Room 105, 1899 East 22nd St. (at the corner of Euclid Ave.).
4:15 – 4:45 p.m.: Meeting with faculty members for a question-and-answer session in the Main Classroom building, Room 105.
4:45 – 5:00 p.m.: Meeting with representatives of Project SERV, the program designed at Cleveland State University to assist military veterans with their transition from soldier to civilian to student.
5:00 – 5:45 p.m.: Mr. Fingerhut will meet in the Atrium of the Main Classroom building with groups of students representing various student organizations and the general student body.
8:00 – 9:00 a.m. Breakfast in Elements Bistro with the academic deans and members of the Faculty Senate.
9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Tour of the gross anatomy and neuroscience lab (Science Building first floor, 2399 Euclid Ave.) and the Center for Gene Regulation in Health and Disease and research labs in the Science and Research Building (2351 Euclid Ave.).
10:00 – 10:30 a.m. Visit nursing resource labs in the Chester Building (2300 Chester Ave.) to observe nursing students using simulators such as “Noelle,” a birthing simulator and practicing injection skills.
10:30 – 11:00 a.m. Visit the Fenn College of Engineering, Stilwell Hall (1960 East 24th St.), for a demonstration of state-of-the-art technology with a focus on economic impact and potential spin-offs.
11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Visit to new Law Clinics and a class in the recently remodeled Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (1801 Euclid Ave.).
11:30 a.m. – Noon: Students and faculty from the Nance College of Business Administration and Levin College of Urban Affairs will display presentations and interact with the Chancellor in the Urban Affairs Building (Glickman-Miller Hall) Atrium (1717 Euclid Ave.)
