Join in the fun and partake in the local harvest on Thursday, September 3 from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. when Cleveland State University, the North Union Farmers Market and neighborhood partners celebrate the grand opening of a new farmers market on the CSU campus.
Fresh, local – and plentiful - produce is coming to students, staff, and neighbors at the market in front of the College of Law building, 1801 Euclid Avenue.
The Market is one part of an aggressive sustainability program on the CSU campus that includes wind power experimentation, a new “green” roof on the recreation center, solar panels generating power from atop the new South Garage, energy-efficient new and renovated buildings, and much more.
Late summer produce will be the main feature at the grand opening with fresh sweet corn, apples, melons, tomatoes, pumpkins, dairy and meat products, honey, maple syrup and more, all provided by local farmers. Local bakers will present delicious breads and pastries, and artisan food producers will feature items such as cheese, jellies, and pasta.
The market will feature vendors with local, Ohio-grown produce, food products and more, and will be open for business 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. every Thursday from September 3 through October 22, rain or shine.
Live music by local bands will make this occasion fun and festive. Stop by for lunch prepared by a local restaurant!
