Beyond the Steps (2006)

A documentary about the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, one of America's oldest modern dance companies and most beloved cultural institutions. The film follows the creation of the ballet "Love Stories," a collaborative work by Judith Jamison, Robert Battle and Rennie Harris, and tells the story of what it means to be a dancer in this internationally acclaimed company. "Beyond the Steps" aired on the PBS series Great Performances in June 2006. Facilitated by Cassandra Wheeler, Cleveland Playhouse Square Foundation
