Please call the Office of Disability Services at 216-687-2015 to schedule an appointment to discuss disability related needs. You may come into the office without an appointment for dropping off or picking up alternative text requests, and if you are scheduling an exam.
Our Student Handbook will answer many of your questions about available services and how they are provided at CSU. Students must have documentation of a disability in order to be eligible for accommodations.
At the beginning of each semester, students need to request accommodation memos for each of their professors to notify them of needed accommodations such as notes or extended time on exams. The student should take this memo to their professor and talk with them about the necessary accommodations. This can be done during the professors office hours or at the beginning or end of class. If you are requesting Accommodation Memos for the first time you will need to set up an appointment with a counselor. If you have requested them before and donít need changes to the requested accommodations you will only need to call (216) 687-2015 or stop by the office to make the request. Please let our front desk person know how many courses you need letters for and who usually prints your letters. The person who usually prints your letters will be Jerry or Kate. These letters should be available for you to pick up within 24 hours.
Students requesting ASL interpreters should contact the Office of Disability Services at least 2 weeks before classes start to guarantee that an interpreter is available for when they need it. The student should also contact us at least two weeks in advance, if possible, of campus activities, meetings, or other events at CSU they would like to participate in. Please contact our office, at (216) 687-2015, as soon as possible to let us know if you will be absent from a class, need to cancel an appointment, or need to reschedule so that we can notify the interpreters.
