Best in Class: Workforce Diversity awarded to Cleveland State University for the second consecutive year by the Commission on Economic Inclusion. The annual employer survey is completed by the Office of the Vice President with collaboration from the Affirmative Action Office, the Department of Human Resources Development and Labor Relations and the Department of Purchasing. After winning the Commission on Economic Inclusion's Workforce Diversity Best-in-Class award for 2005, Cleveland State University continued to build its diverse workforce in 2006 with 29 percent of its workforce composed of minorities. The workforce diversity average reported by the aggregate respondents to the Commission's 2006 Employers Survey on Diversity was 23.5 percent. (Commission on Economic Inclusion 2006 Annual Report)
The President’s Commission on the Conduct of Searches is co-chaired by the Vice President for Institutional Diversity, Njeri Nuru-Holm and the University Legal Counsel, Sonali Wilson. Three progress reports were made to the CSU Board of Trustees. The PCCS commissioned a university wide focus group process that engaged 225 participants in 17 focus groups.
