Incident Description: |
A man and a woman attempted to rob another man, who is unaffiliated with the University. During the confrontation, the male suspect reportedly assaulted the victim with a handgun. A third man, who witnessed the altercation, intervened in an attempt to help. The two suspects ran away, heading east on Euclid Ave. Soon after, a single gunshot was heard, but no one was struck. The suspects were last seen running north on E. 21 St. from Euclid Ave. |

The male suspect was described as an African American in his mid 20's to early 30's, wearing a black jacket, possibly made of leather, and a black hood over his head. The female suspect could not be well described. |

As an added precaution, University officials are reminding the campus community about practices that can increase personal safety and help deter crime. Walk with bag straps secured around your body.
