Summer 2013 - CSU REVAMPED ITS ON CAMPUS PARKING SYSTEM IN FALL 2012! – Proximity based parking launched in August of 2012. Proximity based means the hangtag type you purchase determines where you can park. The proximity parking is a tiered price system that gives patrons the option to purchase parking and walk at a value price or choose a higher priced option that permits parking that is closer to the core of campus.

Hangtags are priced based on the parking access they provide relative to the parking location’s proximity to the core of campus. Parking patrons will have several options:

  • White hangtags provide access to non-core, perimeter parking (including access to the South Garage). This hangtag option is priced to provide the maximum value.
  • Green hangtags provide access to core parking and the South Garage.
  • Evening hangtags provide access for patrons that arrive after 5pm to core and non core locations (Except South Garage).
  • Prepaid hangtags for Prospect Garage (PG) will be restricted to: a) students living in a University residence hall and b) a limited number of employees.
  • A PG hangtag is priced the same as the Green hangtag and will be assessed an additional “Limited Access” surcharge of $25.00 per semester. PG hangtags ONLY provide access to the Prospect Garage and South Garage and are not accepted in other parking locations on campus.
  • Students may purchase hangtags by credit card or post the charges to their student account. Employees may pay in full by credit card or may select payroll deduction as the payment method. (Visa, MC and Discover are accepted for payment in CampusNet).
  • The hangtag you display determines the parking facilities in which you are permitted to park.
  • There will be no limits to parking locations by patron type (student or employee) – only your hangtag type determines where you are able to park.
  • There will be limits on the numbers of hangtags sold of each hangtag type by patron type and waiting lists will be maintained as hangtags sell out.
  • Prepaid parking hangtags continue to offer more locations and a better value than paying cash.
  • During standard daily operation, Monday – Friday cash will NOT be accepted in attended booths. Cash is accepted in attended booths on Saturdays and for special event reservations that require guests to pay for parking when entering the garage. On a daily basis, cash payments will only be accepted at automated parking facilities (PG, SG and Lot 22) and at meters.
  • There will be surcharges for premium service options such as limited access facilities, overnight parking and/or a dedicated space.
  • Daily and hourly cash payments will be accepted in only three (3) CSU parking facilities -- the Prospect Garage, South Garage, and Lot 22 (Student Center).

Hangtag Information

  • White hangtags represent access to non-core, perimeter parking locations.
  • Green hangtags represent access to core parking locations (Except South Garage).
  • Evening hangtags provide access for patrons that arrive after 5pm to core and non core locations.
  • A PG hangtag option is available for patrons who wish to have the option of parking in the Prospect Garage. This option is priced as a Green hangtag with the "Limited Access" surcharge of $25.00 per semester. This hangtag option provides access only to Prospect and South Garage. The PG hangtags do not permit access to any other parking location.
  • Scratch Off hangtags are a prepaid option for parking on a single day. They are also designated White or Green and provide access to the same designated parking locations as the semester prepaid hangtags. Scratch Offs do NOT allow access to the South and Prospect Garages, Lot 22 or meters.
