Our on-campus, Cleveland State Clinic is available for in-person services.
Located in the College of Health, 2112 Euclid Avenue, Room 205

CSU Clinic is a high quality medical facility committed to serving the medical needs of the CSU community. Staffed by certified nurse practitioners and doctors, it offers a wide variety of services including primary and same day care, health counseling, limited in-house pharmacy and lab services, shots and immunizations, and more. Refer to the links on the right hand side of this page for more information.

Students can schedule an appointment at the on-campus
clinic by calling 440-592-1900.

In operating the CSU Clinic, MetroHealth will offer the following services to CSU students, staff and faculty on-campus at the Clinic or via telehealth:

  1. Assessment and treatment of illness and injury, including but not limited to the following:
    • Non-life threatening allergic reactions
    • Coughs, colds and sore throats
    • Ear infections
    • Fever and/or flu-like symptoms
    • Mild asthma
    • Minor burns, injuries or cuts
    • Skin irritations or infections
    • Sprains and strains
  2. Preventative services including:
    • Immunizations
    • Blood pressure screening
    • Cholesterol screening
    • HIV screening
    • Pregnancy testing
    • Sexually tramistted disease testin g
  3. Testing for illnesses such as
    • Rubella
    • Rubeola
    • Strep throat
    • Tuberculosis
  4. Sexual health services and annual gynecological exams
  5. Physical exams

Telehealth Services

Virtual care can be accessed on demand seven days per week from 7 a.m.-11 p.m. To access virtual care call 440-592-1900. A link will be sent to the patient’s cell phone via text message. When the text message is received, click the link to begin the appointment with the provider. Virtual care is appropriate for treatment of the following conditions that can also be treated with in-person testing or evaluation:

  • \Allergy symptoms
  • Bronchitis
  • Cold symptoms
  • Congestion
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Constipation (under 48 hours)
  • Cough
  • COVID-19 symptoms
  • Diarrhea (under 48 hours)
  • Fever
  • Flu symptoms
  • Insect bite
  • Jaw pain
  • Minor burns
  • Minor cuts
  • Muscle pain, strain or sprain
  • Nausea (under 48 hours)
  • Rash
  • RSV concerns
  • Sinus infection
  • Skin problems
  • Sore throat
  • Upper respiratory illness
  • Vomiting (under 48 hours)

If it is determined during the appointment that in-person care is needed, the provider will direct the patient.

  • During weekday, business hours, the patient may be scheduled for an in-person visit with a primary care provider.
  • For urgent or emergent issues, the patient will be directed to Express Care or the nearest Emergency Room.

Express Care

MetroHealth Express Care offers walk-in availability for care. Express Care does not require an appointment and can treat relatively minor conditions. Express Care locations are staffed by highly qualified primary care providers. In most cases, you will be seen in Express Care more quickly than an Emergency Room. Express Care is appropriate for the following conditions:

  • Allergic reactions
  • Animal bites
  • Coughs, colds and sore throats
  • Ear infections
  • Fever or flu-like symptoms
  • Mild asthma
  • Minor burns, injuries or cuts
  • Sexually transmitted infection (STD) testing
  • Skin irritations or infections
  • Sprains and strains

Public transportation is accessible at both locations. Alternately, shuttle transportation can be arranged by calling (216) 778-5258.

Emergency Room

For life threatening emergencies, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911. Conditions that should be managed in the emergency room include:

  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Drug or other poisoning
  • Loss or blurred vision
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Major burns
  • Stroke symptoms

JED Campus Program

Cleveland State University has joined the JED Campus Program, a nationwide initiative of The Jed Foundation (JED) designed to guide schools through a collaborative process of comprehensive systems, program and policy development with customized support to build upon existing student mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention efforts.
