43rd Student Show and Merit Exhibitions

The Galleries at CSU to Host the “43rd Student Show” and “Merit Exhibitions” from March 27-May 3

The Galleries at CSU, located at 1307 Euclid Ave., announce two new exhibitions for the spring semester of 2014: the “43rd Student Show” and “Merit Exhibitions.”

A grand opening reception for both shows is planned for 5-8 p.m. on March 27 at the venue.

The “43rd Student Show,” housed in the venue’s Center and South Galleries, features 54 works of art by 37 students. The show includes photography, printmaking, painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics and video.

School pride beams in the North Gallery as well, where “Merit Exhibitions” showcases works by recipients of Cleveland State Art Department Merit Scholarships. Artists featured: Dunya Abrahim, Ben Rodriguez, Candice Vlcek, Jeremy Kurth, Matt Kapela, Omid Tavakoli, Benji Diaz and Yiyun Chen.

Admission is free. Normal gallery hours are by appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays and noon to 8 p.m. on Saturdays. The Galleries are closed on Sundays.

Both exhibitions will be on view until May 3, 2014.
