Career Growth, Networking, Jazz On Tap at CSU Grad Event
Evening social brings faculty, students and graduate alumni in concert Thursday, April 28
CLEVELAND (April 20, 2022) – Prospective graduate students interested in advancing their careers through graduate education at Cleveland State University will have the opportunity to connect with faculty, program coordinators, students and alumni from graduate programs across the university at the Spring 2022 Graduate Networking Social this coming Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
The event will take place at CSU Student Center Courtyard at 2121 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44115.
CSU offers 150 different graduate programs, dedicated faculty advisors, 250+ research and industry partnerships and an engaged learning approach form the cornerstone of graduate students' success. The most popular graduate school programs at Cleveland State University are Business, Law, and Social Work. Over 53% of CSU’s graduate students are part-time graduate students.
Recently, the Monte Ahuja College of Business at CSU was ranked in the Top 50 Best Online MBA Programs in the United States by Fortune Education for 2022. CSU has also been ranked among the 2022-2023 Best Graduate Schools by U.S. News & World Report. Both sets of annual rankings are released each spring, designed for prospective students looking to further education beyond their undergraduate degree.
Attendees will enjoy an after-workhours session replete with live music, hors d’ oeuvres, wine and beer—all while networking with faculty, program coordinators, current students and alumni. Current CSU juniors and seniors, deans, administrative staff, corporate and campus partners, CSU alumni, and graduate students are all invited to register for the event.
“Getting a graduate education is more than just taking coursework,” said Michael Hollenbaugh, Ph.D., director of CSU’s Graduate Admissions and Diversity Initiatives in the College of Graduate Studies.
“It’s about finding a mentor, making connections and learning from others studying alongside you—taking that first step to connect and dig deeper into how these degrees and people help you achieve your goals. Whether you want to become a lawyer, professor, mechanical engineer, or whatever our 150 other programs can lead to, you can find your dream job and it starts right here at CSU.”
In a celebration of April being Jazz Appreciation Month, the grad networking event will feature the lively-and-timely sounds of the CSU Jazz Quartet— featuring Michael McCann (saxophone), current Graduate Candidate Rodney Hubbard (Piano), Alexander Washington (drums) and Leo Traum (bass).
