#CLEstate50 Is Coming!
Follow our countdown to CSU’s “Green Turns Gold” 50th Anniversary Block Party on Sept. 19
Cleveland State University is ready to commemorate its 50th anniversary with a full slate of festivities during the 2014-2015 academic year, including a “Green Turns Gold” block party on Friday, September 19 – and we’re counting down the days to this once-in-a-lifetime celebration with 50 engaging blasts from the past.
Starting Thursday, July 31, keep an eye out for the #CLEstate50 hashtag on social media every day over the next seven weeks for amazing photos from the CSU archives, need-to-know recaps of key moments in CSU history and fun CSU facts, among other highlights.
Follow along and you’ll be primed to live it up like a true Viking from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on September 19, when the CSU 50th Anniversary Block Party will shut down Euclid Avenue and East 18th Street in the heart of the CSU campus for great live music (including a performance by hip-hop violinist SVET, as seen on “America’s Got Talent”), a bold attempt by CSU mascot Magnus to break the world record for knuckle push-ups, delicious eats from popular Cleveland food trucks, fantastic prize giveaways and more. The outdoor event, which will culminate with fireworks at dusk, is free and open to the public.
In addition to the block party, CSU’s “Green Turns Gold Weekend” will feature our annual Distinguished Alumni Awards on September 18, as well as a Homecoming Parade and Harvest Ball for CSU students and alumni on September 19.
