Cleveland State to Host Seminar for Public Officials
Cuyahoga County Council and CSU’s Levin College of Urban Affairs Present Sessions on Economic and Workforce Development, Public Finance and Other Topics on May 18
CLEVELAND – A seminar for public officials will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Cleveland State University’s Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs. The seminar is presented by the Cuyahoga County Council and Levin College.
“The challenges of our day require local government officials to possess a broad array of skills to lead effectively,” said Dr. Edward (Ned) Hill, dean of Levin College. “The Public Official Training Seminar is designed to equip our leaders with the tools and resources necessary to meet the evolving needs of their communities.”
Topics covered will include economic and workforce development; public finance; public transparency and communications; ethics and integrity; and governance roles and responsibility.
The seminar is primarily intended for public officials, although policy makers, council staff, community leaders, administrators, agency supervisors, campaign officials and advisors to elected officials are also welcome.
The seminar is free and includes program materials, as well as breakfast, lunch and parking.
