Cleveland State University has appointed Paul Wolansky as Director of Advancement for the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS).

He will work with the College dean and the Division of University Advancement to develop and implement fundraising and alumni programs within CLASS. The College comprises 12 departments, two schools, and an array of interdisciplinary programs, and offers both graduate and undergraduate degree programs in the fine arts, humanities, and social sciences.

A native Clevelander, Wolansky graduated from the Cleveland School of Science, one of the Cleveland Metropolitan School System’s first magnet schools, and attended Cleveland State. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Baldwin-Wallace College and a master’s degree from Bowling Green State University. He will join CSU in September.

For the past four years, he has been the senior director of alumni relations at Colorado State University. He also was the director of alumni outreach and education at Oberlin College for six years, and director of campus activities and associate director of Norris University Center at Northwestern University for three years.

In addition, he served as director of student involvement at the University of Denver and director of the student center/activities at Quinnipiac College.

"A foundation in the fine arts, humanities, and social sciences is critical to a well-rounded education, but to offer our students the fullest range of opportunities in these areas, we depend more and more upon community financial support," said Dean Gregory Sadlek. "So we are pleased that we will be working with Paul to raise that support as well as to increase alumni engagement with the college."
