Cleveland State University is expanding its outreach into India with a major program that will not only increase its international footprint and provide CSU with higher credibility and experience, but also allow expansion to collaborate with top level high quality institutions in different countries worldwide.

With the agreement, there will be numerous opportunities for students to broaden their perspectives and gain an outstanding knowledge and education in various areas. While CSU boasts of highly productive research and teaching faculty who have published many articles in their respective fields, IIM Indore is not only ranked in the top 10 in India but is a triple accredited institution of management with less than a one percent selection rate for students.

That translates into a win-win for both institutions.

“Both Universities are located in wonderful cities that have numerous reputed companies and students will be able to engage in international research and hands on interactions with these companies,” said Ashutosh Dixit, professor of marketing in the Monte Ahuja College of Business at CSU. “Another major advantage to this partnership will be to observe culture, business practices, and access to data from each country to be utilized for comparative studies.”

Dixit also points to the fact that this is not only an incredible opportunity for students, but faculty members as well.

“This will allow exposure and involvement of students in top level universities with specialized and cutting-edge courses and the chance to experience different cultures and business practices,” he said. “Perhaps most importantly, both CSU and IIM Indore can make long term relationships with each other and experience the beautiful cities of Cleveland and Indore while enjoying all of the different foods, art and culture of each institution.”

Melissa Gruys, who serves as CSU's Dean of the Monte Ahuja College of Business, agrees that this will be an exciting opportunity for students.

“The Monte Ahuja College of Business is excited to coordinate activities with IIM Indore, as well as with universities in other countries,” she said. “Study abroad and interaction with colleagues from other cultures adds a wonderfully enriching experience for our students and faculty and we look forward to fruitful future collaboration.”

CSU faculty and students interested in participating in programs linked to IIM Indore can reach out to Dean of the College of Business, Gruys or Dixit.
