CSU Department of Theatre and Dance Presents Scab April 3 - April 13 at the Allen Theatre Helen Lewis Bialosky Lab Theatre

Cleveland State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance, a resident company of PlayhouseSquare, continues its second full season in the Allen Theatre complex with the production of Sheila Callaghan’s intriguing play, Scab, from April 3-13 in the Helen Lewis Bialosky Lab Theatre.

The show is directed by CSU Theatre graduate and local director, Denise Astorino. The synopsis, according to the Drama Book Shop:

“We know that patience and time provide the proper poultice for a healing wound. Yet whether it's a gash to the heart or a scrape of the knee, the painful relief of ripping off a scab brings temporary satisfaction. In truth it only leads to future scars. These wounds and their repair are the subject of this darkly comic and honestly poetic Scab, an intriguing foray into love, loss, and ‘who I slept with’.”

The cast features Katie Huskey (Anima); Hannah Krainz (Christa); Brooke Morrison (Jenna/Angel One); Phil Kolar (Alan/Artie/Davie/Angel Two) and Ren Flanders (Mom/Kellee/Mary-Androgyne).

Most regular shows run Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for CSU Theatre and Dance productions by calling the PlayhouseSquare Ticket Office at 216-241-6000, visiting online at http://www.playhousesquare.org, or buying in person at the State Theatre Ticket Office, located at 1519 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44115.
