CSU Names Ray Pinner Interim VP of Business Affairs & Finance
Longtime executive previously served as finance VP at University of Alabama in Huntsville
Ray Pinner, a respected higher education executive with extensive experience with public colleges and universities, has been named interim vice president of business affairs & finance at Cleveland State University. In that role, he will oversee finance and accounting, facilities and operations and the CSU Police Department. Pinner previously spent 23 years at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), retiring as the University’s senior vice president for finance and administration in 2017.
During his tenure at Alabama-Huntsville, Pinner served as UAH’s chief financial and administrative officer with responsibility for fiscal operations, financial planning, and budget development; construction, facilities planning and physical plant; procurement and purchasing; campus police; human resources and the UAH Conference Center and Hotel. He also chaired the University’s budget committee and served on its Foundation Board of Directors. In addition to UAH, Pinner served in senior leadership positions with the University of Kentucky and Morehead State University.
Pinner replaces Stephanie McHenry, who will be leaving CSU to pursue other opportunities. The University will begin a national search shortly to identify a permanent replacement for the position.
