CSU Welcomes Jeanell N. Hughes
Higher education executive named chief talent officer/chief human resources officer
Cleveland State University is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeanell N. Hughes as chief talent officer/chief human resources officer. Hughes, an experienced human resources executive with a track record of leading teams to create value through people, will assume her new position on October 22, 2018.

Sands. “Jeanell is an outstanding professional with a deep commitment to developing employee value propositions, cultivating diversity and inclusion and nurturing a culture of optimal performance. She will be a great addition to our CSU team.”
At CSU, Hughes will lead the development and implementation of talent strategies and will oversee all facets of human resources for the University.
Most recently, Hughes served as vice president of talent management and chief diversity officer for Aramark. Previously she served as associate vice president for human resources and chief HR officer at the University of Louisville, where she provided strategic leadership, vision and operational guidance on university goals and objectives, led strategic and operational initiatives and promoted an engaged organizational culture.
Hughes also was an HR consultant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and manager of human resources/payroll at Indiana University. Hughes received a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Kent State University.
