CSU Wins Addy Award for Design of CLASS Edge Lounge
Cleveland State University’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences has been honored with a 2017 Silver Addy Award presented by the Cleveland Chapter of the American Advertising Federation. Given in the category of Ambient Media, Installations, the award recognizes the design and development of the CLASS Edge Lounge, a holistic educational and social space for the College’s students which also promotes the study of liberal arts generally as well as the specific disciplines taught in CLASS.
“The Edge Lounge provides a central focal point for college activities while also celebrating the creativity, artistic inspiration and the desire to question that are all at the core of a liberal arts education,” says CLASS Dean Gregory Sadlek. “We are extremely honored that our design efforts have earned the recognition of AAF and I would like to personally thank all of the individuals inside and outside of CSU who helped make this lounge a reality.”
The Edge Lounge was opened in 2016 and includes study spaces and open social environments while also highlighting prominent CLASS alumni as well as research, books and creative activity produced by students, faculty and staff.
The American Advertising Awards, or ADDYs, are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local AAF Club competitions across the county.
