Why: Dr. Abril Trigo is a Distinguished Humanities Professor of Literatures and Cultures of Latin America at The Ohio State University. He is the director of the Center for Latin American Studies at OSU. His areas of specialization are Latin American Cultural Studies, XIX Century Latin American Thought, Theater and Film, Popular Culture and Cultural Theory, and Globalization Studies. He is the coeditor of The Latin American Cultural Studies Reader.
