Expo’ Helps Answer Age-old Question for Students, Career Seekers
Monte Ahuja College of Business Career and Internship Expo lands March 24

It’s the age-old question, especially for college students: “What’s next?”

This week, the Student Services Center of the Monte Ahuja College of Business will help many answer that question as they host undergraduate and graduate students and nearly 40 different companies and organizations at their Spring 2022 Business Career and Internship Expo.

Career seekers, internship/co-op hunters and anyone else on campus wondering “what’s next?” are encouraged to attend and find the answer.

It’s also a great opportunity for first-year students learn more about employers and what types of internships and career opportunities are out there—not to mention that some employers hire students for their summer internship programs with only one year of college courses completed.

"The Business Career and Internship Expo is just one example of how we are supporting the Northeast Ohio business community by creating and advancing business-ready talent which supports our vision and mission," said Dr. Kenneth B. Kahn, dean of the Monte Ahuja College of Business.

"We encourage all students to attend as early as their freshmen year to learn not just about different companies and industries, but also to gain experience in interacting and networking with business professionals" added Anne Nelson, assistant dean of student services.

Cleveland Jewish News (CJN) recently interviewed three internship and career experts, including CSU’s Ben Hoffman, Ph.D., CPA. They cover everything—soup to nuts—on finding an internship fit, including the networking potentials built from resulting connections at events like the Expo.

“Anyone can Google internship opportunities,” Dr. Hoffman told the CJN, “but only you have your own unique relationships that can be built into internship or shadowing opportunities… creating a network is very important.”

Nearly 40 different companies and organizations are participating in the event, which runs Thursday, March 24 from noon - 5 p.m. in the Monte Ahuja College of Business (1860 East 18th Street).

The program is free and open to all CSU students, though registration is required. Employers are seeking both undergraduate and graduate students of multiple majors.
