TEDxClevelandStateUniversity Speaker Profile: Claudio Milstein, Ph.D.

Meet Claudio Milstein.

Milstein is a speech scientist and voice specialist with more than 20 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of voice and laryngeal disorders. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he studied at the University of Buenos Aires, where he later taught and developed expertise in caring for professional voice users, including actors and singers. 

After earning a doctorate in speech sciences from the University of Arizona, he completed advanced training at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since 2001, Dr. Milstein has served on the staff of Cleveland Clinic's Head and Neck Institute and is an affiliate scholar at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. An internationally recognized lecturer and author, his clinical and research interests focus on voice disorders, laryngeal pathology, aerodigestive disorders, inducible laryngeal obstruction, and early glottic cancer.

The topic of his talk is Normal Lungs, Struggling to Breathe: The Silent Epidemic.
