TEDxClevelandStateUniversity Speaker Profile: Mandi Goodsett

As TEDxClevelandStateUniversity approaches, we'll profile each speaker who will take the stage at the event.

Meet Mandi Goodsett.

Goodsett is an academic librarian at Cleveland State University’s Michael Schwartz Library, where she has worked for nearly 12 years helping students navigate today’s complex information landscape. She holds master’s degrees in library and information science and adult learning and development. Her scholarship includes 16 peer-reviewed publications and dozens of conference presentations, with collaborators from Northwestern University, Carnegie Mellon University and Cleveland State University.

Her work is driven by conversations with undergraduate students, whose curiosity, and growing cynicism about media and information, has shaped her research and teaching. As the parent of a young child, she is equally invested in building a healthier information future. Through education, she believes people can develop the critical thinking skills needed to question assumptions, evaluate evidence and remain open to changing their minds.

The topic of her talk is Curiosity over Cynicism-Reclaiming our Attention and Agency: How to Stop Scrolling and Start Choosing.
