CSU Lady Vikes Baskeball anchors two youth-geared events at Wolstein this week

The red-hot Cleveland State University Women’s Basketball Vikings will anchor two youth-geared events at the Wolstein Center this week, offering family-friendly fun for the whole family! On Thursday, February 2 starting at 9 a.m., CSU hosts Health & Hoops Basketball, which returns after a two-year hiatus. The morning features a wealth of educational programming and interactive wellbeing-related activities on the concourse.

Attendees can learn all about nutrition, health science, human performance and more in a boisterous, electric day outside the classroom. The event culminates with the Vikes taking on the Robert Morris Colonials at 11 a.m. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch or utilize concessions options in the venue. Attendance to Vikings Health & Hoops Basketball is FREE. Then on Saturday, February 4 starting at 2 p.m., CSU will observe National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) as the Vikes squaring off against the Youngstown State Penguins.

While NGWSD officially lands on February 1 this year, Saturday's event appreciates achievements of female coaches and athletes, acknowledging the role of sports in unlocking boundless potential of women everywhere. It is also Rising Coaches: Equity & Inclusion Day

Powered by the Women's Sports Foundation, NGWSD was created to acknowledge accomplishments of female athletes, recognize their influence on sports participation for women and girls, and to honor the progress and continuing struggle for equality for women in sports.
