Weston Ideation Lab Delves into the Creation of “Side Hustles”
Business owner Anne Skoch speaks at CSU Feb. 18
Cleveland State University’s Monte Ahuja College of Business is hosting a new series designed to help students develop business ideas while they are still in school. How to Create a Side Hustle, presented by CSU’s Weston Ideation Lab, will feature its next speaker, Anne Skoch, owner of Anne Cate, on Tuesday, February 18.
The event will begin at 11:30 am and will be held in the Monte Ahuja College of Business, Room 308 (Weston Idea Lab), at 1860 East 18th Street. The program is free and open to the public but registration is required.
How to Create a Side Hustle allows attendees to learn from collegiate “side hustlers” who have created and maintained successful business while completing their degrees. It will provide insights on the creation of a business idea and the development and management of the business as it expands. This includes capturing the first client, establishing a marketing campaign and developing a financial plan.
Anne Skoch is the CEO and founder of Anne Cate, a manufacturer of purses, pillows and baby clothes, which she started in her Kent State University dorm room. Since graduating in May of 2018, she has pursued her business full time, adding a manufacturing studio and a team of five. The company’s products are sold in retail stores across the country, on Wayfair.com and in numerous museums, including the Art Institute of Chicago.
