Xiang Li and Richey Piiparinen to Receive Crain’s Forty Under 40 Awards
Xiang Li, Ph.D., and Richey Piiparinen of Cleveland State University have been named to the 2015 Crain’s Cleveland Business Forty Under 40 list.
Dr. Li is an assistant professor of physics in CSU’s College of Sciences and Health Professions. Her research focuses on the assessment and reduction of radiation doses in medical imaging procedures, which has led to collaborations with imaging physicists at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and other scientists in the medical imaging industry. Dr. Li is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Medical Physics.
Piiparinen is the director of the Center for Population Dynamics in CSU’s Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs. His research on demography, economic development and migration has resulted in several widely cited reports detailing how influxes of new people and new ideas can help cities such as Cleveland compete in the global economy. Piiparinen has shared his findings at the City Club of Cleveland, on National Public Radio and in The Plain Dealer, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Atlantic Cities, The Huffington Post and other media outlets.
