Earn a Certificate or Certification with CSU's Professional Development Benefit

Eligibility and Benefits

Because you're worth it! CSU staff and full-time faculty receive employee tuition remission benefits equivalent to the cost of eight (8) undergraduate credit hours per semester, which can be used to earn a non-credit certificate or certification.

NEXT STEPS

Contact the Bursar: We recommend that employees start by contacting the Bursar's office to verify the balance available to them. Remember that your professional development benefit limit per semester encompasses both credit and non-credit programs. If you are unsure whether you have used this benefit before or what is available to you, the Bursar can help.

Regarding Family Members: The tuition remission benefit is not available for non-credit classes and workshops for spouses and children of faculty and staff. For further information, please contact the benefits office.

Forms and Downloads:

Non-credit staff development (CE) has its own tuition remission processing form. Both faculty and staff who are taking non-credit classes and workshops use it.

Download a copy of the non-credit (CE) Staff Development Form HERE.

  • Instructions: After selecting your class and completing the form, ensure your supervisor signs it. Submit the signed form to the email address listed on the staff development form. Once the form is received, the department will enroll you in the class and confirm your enrollment.
  • If you need to cancel your course registration, please refer to the refund policy and process of the sponsoring college or contact the benefits office.
