Youth Protection at CSU
What to Expect
All faculty, staff, students, graduate assistants, contractors or volunteers (the CSU policy does not apply to those persons struck through) who work in any activities or programs for, or that include, youth participants will be subject to the policy.
Individuals working in activities and programs for or including youth participants must successfully complete program registration, staff registration and the required training and background checks before working in such activities and programs.
All activities and programs for or including youth participants must submit an online application and all requested documents to CSU Conference Services at least 4 weeks prior to the start date of the activity or program.
All activities or programs, both CSU and third party hosted, must have a CSU Program Contact. This individual represents the department, school, or student organization and is responsible for the direction or operation of the activities or programs. In the case of third party activities or programs, this person serves as the liaison between CSU and the third party personnel.
Failure to comply with the requirements of this policy or the requirements of this program will result in the loss of program privileges at Cleveland State University.
In addition to the requirements of this policy, faculty, staff, students, graduate assistants, contractors, or volunteers must adhere to obligations that may be imposed by applicable law or other CSU Policy. All areas/programs are still subject to all other relevant CSU policies and procedures, including the Minors on Campus policy.
