It's almost time to welcome our students back to campus during Cleveland State University's Week of Welcome (CSU WOW), organized by The Center for Campus Engagement in the Division of Student Belonging and Success! This year, CSU WOW will take place from Thursday, Aug. 22–Friday, Aug. 31, and will include events such as VikingFEST and the New Student Convocation (Aug. 24), the All That's Green is Gold party (Aug. 25), Bingo for Books (Aug. 27) and more.

Planning is underway to ensure a successful first week for all students joining our Viking Community, and we need your help.

Volunteer at VikingFEST:

The CSU Division of Student Belonging and Success is proud to host an exciting new VikingFEST Street Fair (formerly MagnusFest) on Saturday, Aug. 24 from noon — 4 p.m. with a movie night to follow from 7 — 10 p.m. VikingFEST is a street fair welcoming students back to campus during the annual Week of Welcome and features games, prizes, food trucks, live music and much more! We need your help to help make this a memorable experience for our community. Register to volunteer today.

Host a CSU WOW event:

This is your opportunity to introduce students to your department or program, provide students with helpful resources, offer snacks to grab before and after their classes or invite students for a tour of your office and to meet your team by hosting an Open House event.

When you submit your event, be sure to confirm that your event is part of WOW and add the WOW Fall 24 tag, which will help categorize all WOW events on the calendar for easy accessibility.

Submit your event on VikesConnect using your department profile (see instructions below on how to create your profile) which serves as the official University Events Calendar. The deadline to submit all events is Friday, Aug. 16.

Volunteer at CSU WOW Information Tables:

We're seeking volunteers to assist with our WOW Information Tables on Monday, Aug. 26 and Tuesday, Aug. 27 in the Student Center Lobby and Berkman Hall from 8 a.m.  — 4 p.m. Each slot is one hour in length.

Volunteers are needed to help answer questions and assist students who need a little extra support during the first week of classes. We aren’t asking for experts—you don’t have to know all the answers to CSU. Just guide students with what you do know and there will be a binder to write down questions for someone to follow up with students later in the week. Sign up to volunteer by completing this registration form.
