2021-2022 Benefits Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment will be from Monday, May 17, 2021 through Friday, May 28, 2021

BENEFITS PLAN CHANGES ARE EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2021​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

​​​​​​​What Do I Need to Know?

• Time to review and update your benefits plan elections, make necessary changes to remove or add dependents to coverage, update your life insurance beneficiaries, and determine how much to put into a Health Care or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account.
• If you want to enroll in a Health Care or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, you must login to myBenefits and make those elections during Open Enrollment.  
• If you are currently enrolled in Supplemental Employee or Supplemental Spousal/Same Sex Domestic Partner Life Insurance, you have the opportunity to increase your Life Insurance coverage for yourself in one $10,000 increment until you reach the maximum guaranteed issue amount of $200,000. You can also increase coverage for your Supplemental Spouse/Same-Sex Domestic Partner in one $5,000 increment until coverage reaches the maximum guaranteed issue amount of $100,000.

Not Planning to Make Changes to Your Benefits Coverage for 2021-2022?

• If you don’t want to make any changes to your benefit enrollments (medical, dental, vision, and life insurance) for 2021-2022, then no action is required. Your benefits will default to what you have today.  It is highly recommended that you login and review your enrollments to ensure that everything is accurate.

• The coverage you select during Open Enrollment will be in effect from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022, unless you experience a qualifying life event (i.e. marriage, divorce, birth or adoption of a child, etc.). If you experience a qualifying life event, you must notify Human Resources Benefits within 31 days of the event.
• If you are not sure which medical plan is best for you and your family, reference the Medical Plans At-A-Glance or Medical Plans Frequently Asked Questions.

• If you are adding new dependents to your coverage for 2021-2022, you will need to supply proof of relationship documents to Human Resources Benefits.  Click Dependent Benefits Eligibility to see the requirements.  Please email all required documents to benefits@csuohio.edu by Friday, May 28, 2021.
