CSU Benefits at a Glance

Cleveland State University (CSU) offers a highly competitive and comprehensive package of employee benefits.

Cleveland State University (CSU) offers three health plan options administered by Medical Mutual of Ohio. All three plans include prescription drug coverage administered by Express Scripts.

·         MetroHealth Skyway Plan

·         Medical Mutual Value Plan

·         Medical Mutual Traditional Plan

Dental coverage is offered through Delta Dental of Ohio. The plan provides full coverage for diagnostic and preventive care with additional coverage for other dental services. Orthodontia is covered for both adults and children with a lifetime maximum benefit of $1,200 per covered person.

CSU offers two vision plan options administered by VSP. Both plans provide discounts on routine eye exams, frames, lenses and contact lenses.

CSU offers a healthcare FSA and a dependent care FSA to allow you to pay for eligible out-of-pocket healthcare and dependent care-related expenses with pre-tax dollars.

CSU offers life insurance coverage through Securian/Minnesota Life. Coverage options include the following:

  • Basic Life: covers full-time employees at 2x base pay, not to exceed $150,000
  • Supplemental Life: $10,000 increments up to $500,000
  • Spouse Life: $10,000 increments up to $200,000
  • Dependent Child Life: $10,000 per covered child

Long-term disability coverage is provided for full-time employees through Unum. The plan provides a benefit equal to 60% of your base pay, not to exceed $5,000 per month.

CSU provides several retirement savings plan options to help you reach your retirement goals. These include the following:

Mandatory Plans:
- OPERS/STRS depending on employee type; or
- Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP)

Voluntary Retirement Plans:
- 403(b)
- 457(b)

CSU’s EAP provides timely and confidential work/life support through IMPACT Solutions. Employees and their family members have access to a full range of EAP services at no cost.

CSU provides access to free financial advice and planning services through CAPTRUST at Work, an independent third-party company.

CSU offers voluntary benefit plans for individual short-term disability and accident insurance through Unum.

CSU provides paid vacation, holidays and sick leave for classified and administrative staff.

CSU provides six weeks of paid parental leave following the birth or adoption of a child. Employees are eligible for paid parental leave after they have worked at least 1,250 hours during the 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date leave would begin.

CSU provides tuition benefits to its employees and eligible dependents.
