Michael Roizen, M.D.

Michael Roizen, M.D. is an anesthesiologist and internist, the Chief Wellness Officer, Emeritus, and founding Chair of the Wellness Institute at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Roizen became famous for developing the RealAge concept and has authored five number-one New York Times best sellers.

Dr. Roizen became Cleveland Clinic's chief wellness officer in 2007. He is a professor of medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Roizen completed a tour of duty in the Public Health Service and has 165 peer reviewed publications and 100 medical chapters, 14 U.S. patents, started six companies, served on Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory committees for 16 years and chaired an FDA advisory committee.  Among his other initiatives are starting a farmer's market on Cleveland Clinic main campus, mentoring children in the public schools as well as starting smoking cessation and weight-loss programs. He has also encouraged a walking-focused health program.

Over the next decade, people living to 100, 110, or even 120 years old will become increasingly common, and life past 100 may not look like what you expect. In this groundbreaking presentation, Dr. Roizen reveals how current science and technology will revolutionize our ability to live longer, younger and better.

Today's breakthroughs in longevity research are unprecedented, and this presentation will help you navigate the coming changes to make the best decisions for your brain and your body. Dr. Roizen will explore how longer life spans will change our lives and our culture, providing the most comprehensive and forward-looking information on aging to date and showing attendees a road map to prevention, treatment and technology that will reshape how we think about old age - and help us plan for an audacious future.

Attendees will:

  • Discuss the genetic and biological aging process.
  • Understand how health behaviors affect our genes and cells.
  • Analyze which behaviors affect our health and aging
  • Compare the aging process between those practicing healthy behaviors and those who do not.
  • Summarize key strategies used for those that live a longer and healthier life.
