Steps to Reach Individual Diet and Exercise Solutions (STRIDES) program

VikeHealth Grand Rounds is a series of events in which healthcare professionals and experts will share their medical knowledge with the Cleveland State University community. The events are open to all faculty, staff and students.

Eileen Seeholzer

Our inaugural event will feature Eileen Seeholzer, M.D. the medical director of the Adult Weight Loss Surgery and Weight Management Center at MetroHealth System, professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and medical director of the MetroHealthy Employee Wellness Initiative at MetroHealth System. Learn more about Dr. Seeholzer here.

Dr. Seeholzer will speak about the STRIDES program, a practical adaptation of the Diabetes Prevention Program that uses simple language and tailors recommendations to patient preferences.

The STRIDES program is now available to all faculty and staff that have healthcare coverage through CSU. Attendees will:

  • Discuss the design of the STRIDES program.
  • Understand how STRIDES can prevent diabetes and other chronic health conditions.
  • Learn about a study that tested the effectiveness of STRIDES in an urban primary care practice in a county healthcare system.
  • Identify how to participate in the STRIDES program.

VikeHealth points are available for CSU employees enrolled in the VikeHealth program!
