About the Viking Street Team 

Do you love following social media trends, creating content, capturing campus moments and sharing your CSU pride? University Marketing is looking for creative, social media–savvy students to help showcase life at Cleveland State University from a student’s perspective. 

Viking Street Team members will produce photos, videos and written content that highlights student experiences, campus life and the infinite opportunities CSU has to offer. Your work will appear on CSU’s official social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X

What You’ll Do 

As a member of the Viking Street Team, you will: 

  • Create engaging photo, video and written content for CSU’s official accounts
  • Capture authentic student life moments and campus events
  • Pitch and develop ideas based on current social media trends
  • Participate in bi-monthly in-person team meetings to brainstorm and plan content
  • Contribute to a shared content library for University Marketing’s team
  • Represent CSU professionally and positively both online and on campus
  • Engage with the content posted on university social media channels

Participation Incentives 
All members will receive a CSU merch pack after joining the street team. Performance will be evaluated monthly by the Communications Manager based on content quality, engagement and participation.  

  • End-of-Semester Rewards (Tiered by Performance)
    • Tier 1 - $250 Gift Card to Viking Outfitters: Attended all 8 bi-monthly meetings, participated in 3+ events/month, produced 4+ pieces of on-trend, usable content (photos or a video) with captions.
    • Tier 2 - $125 Gift Card to Viking Outfitters: Attended 6+ meetings, participated in 2+ events/month, produced 2-3 pieces of quality content (photos or a video) with captions.
    • Tier 3 - $75 Gift Card to Viking Outfitters: Attended 1 meeting/month, participated in 1 event/month, produced 1 usable post (photos or a video) with a caption.
  • Monthly Incentives
    • Content of the Month and Trendspotter Award: $15 gift card to Viking Outfitters

Who Should Apply 

We’re looking for creative, motivated and energetic CSU students who: 

  • Are active on social media and familiar with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X
  • Enjoy photography, videography or storytelling
  • Have strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Can commit approximately 3–5 hours per week
  • Maintain a positive and professional online presence
