Welcome to the Office of Student Learning Assessment

Housed in the Office of Instructional Excellence, the Office of Student Learning Assessment coordinates all assessment efforts and initiatives for Cleveland State University. We aim to support academic excellence and continuous improvement across all degree programs, our general education curriculum, and our student support service units, centers, and offices. Through collaboration with faculty, staff, and administrators, student learning outcomes are effectively measured and used to enhance the quality of education at Cleveland State University.

Office of Student Learning Assessment Mission Statement

Grounded in the CSU Mission Statement, the Office of Student Learning Assessment is designed to promote excellence in student learning outcomes of all academic programs and divisions as well as student support services units, centers, and offices. Central to our beliefs and practices is sustaining a systematic and systemic collection of student learning assessment data used to engage the campus community in reflection and action on continuous program improvement. The overarching goals are as follows: a) strengthening the quality of student learning outcomes, reflective of the development of 21st-century skills needed to compete in an increasingly diverse global economy; b) enhance institutional status and recognition; c) boost enrollment; and d) capitalize on the institution’s capacity to provide students with distinctive programs designed to help them to lead productive lives.
