Program Assessment

Every academic degree program, student support unit, and student service unit on campus is required to develop and maintain a comprehensive assessment plan that includes clearly defined student learning objectives. These objectives serve as measurable outcomes that reflect what students are expected to learn, achieve, or demonstrate as a result of their engagement with the program or service. The purpose of these assessment plans is to ensure continuous improvement in educational quality and student success by regularly evaluating how well programs and services are meeting their stated goals.

At CSU, these assessment plans operate on a structured 5-year cycle. During this cycle, each unit is expected to collect and analyze data related to their learning objectives, use the findings to inform decision-making, and implement improvements where necessary. 

Our current cycle:

• Create Assessment Plan (AY 2024-2025)

• Data Collection & Analysis (AY 2025-2026; AY 2026-2027; AY 2027-2028; AY 2028-2029)

   

Planning documents for AY 2024-2025 are due May 31, 2025.
