WHat is Peer monitoring?

Peer Monitoring is a service that aims to help you understand your academic strengths and areas for improvement while providing you with tools, support and resources to ensure your academic success.  Peer Monitors will help you feel supported and encouraged to reach your academic, professional and personal goals. 

WHY SHOULD I USE THE TRIO-SSS Peer monitoring program?

Student Success skills are an integral part of college survival, but are not always taught in the classroom. TRIO Peer Monitors have a plethora of strategies to tackle obstacles, like time management, stress management, organization and study skills.

Our Peer Monitors are also students in the TRIO program, so they have been in your shoes and can speak from personal experience. 

HOW DO I MEET WITH A TRIO-SSS Peer Monitor?

Please email your TRIO-SSS advisor and they can assist in getting you scheduled. Note that your assigned Peer Monitor will be reaching out to you regularly throughout the semester via email and phone to connect. Meeting with a Peer Monitor is a mandatory component of the TRIO-SSS Program for all first-year students and students on Academic Warning/Probation. 

WHO ARE THE TRIO/SSS Success Coaches?

The TRIO-SSS Peer Monitors are a group of dynamic and qualified CSU students who have demonstrated mastery of student success skills and possess a sincere interest in helping their peers succeed. Our TRIO Peer Monitors have worked extensively with the TRIO-SSS student population. They welcome questions and are always happy to help.

WHERE WILL I MEET WITH my peer monitor?

The Peer Monitors are located in BH110, in the TRIO-SSS advising area.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Bring your all of your notes, course syllabi, a planner, assignment descriptions, and/or anything else you need help with.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL/RESCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

Just stop by our office or call our front desk at (216) 687-2402 to let us know about any necessary changes. Please note that if you are a "no show" or you cancel your appointment more than three times in one semester, you may not be able to schedule appointments with a TRIO-SSS Peer Monitor for the remainder of that semester.
