Dr. Wendy Sarver, School of Nursing

Dr. Wendy Sarver is an assistant professor in the School of Nursing. Her research focuses mainly on nurse education.  Dr. Sarver completed her MSN and PhD at Kent State University, BSN at Case Western Reserve University, and BS in Communication at Ohio University.  She spent the last 13 years working at MetroHealth in nursing research, serving as the Coordinator, Nursing Research, Senior Nurse Researcher, and finally as the Director, Nursing Research.  In these roles, Dr. Sarver served as a PI and Co-Investigator on a broad variety of nursing research studies, and helped drive the organization's nursing Quality Improvement program. 

Dr. Sarver's research interests lie in nurse education, and her program of research here will focus on preparation for practice with initial licensure programs, specifically the impact of COVID-19 on newly licensed nurses. Dr. Sarver is also interested in studying the impact of doctoral nursing programs on practice and hospital leadership.
